Roleplay Chat opens soon. For now you will join our main room, Sex Chat.

This roleplay chat room is for adults who like to write a scene together. You play a character, your partner plays another, and the story grows line by line. It is free, and you need no account.

What the roleplay chat room is for

Text roleplay is shared fiction. Two or more people write a scene in turns.

In the public room, you post a scene idea and look for a partner.

A long scene between two people belongs in private messages. If you are new, the guide to roleplay chat for beginners helps you with your first scene.

Who adult roleplay chat is for, and who it is not for

This room is for:

  • adults who like to write and to read,
  • people who want a story around the flirting, not only the flirting,
  • beginners who are ready to ask how a scene works.

This room is not for:

  • anybody under 18,
  • people who use "it is only a story" as an excuse to ignore a no,

How you join and where the scene happens

There is no sign up. Type a name, and a character name is fine. Pick a gender, enter your own date of birth, and tick the terms box. Then tap "Chat now".

The chat runs in your phone browser with no download. Know one limit before you plan a long story. Private message history lasts 24 hours, and room history lasts about 1 hour. The site does not keep your scene after that.

Rules for roleplay chat

  • Every character is an adult. No characters under 18, no school pupils, and no "she only looks young".
  • No family roles. That includes step-family roles.
  • No animals. Bestiality is banned, also in fiction.
  • Agree before you start. Talk about tone and limits out of character first.
  • Mark out-of-character text. Put it in double brackets, like ((this)).
  • Stop means stop. A "stop" or "pause" from your partner ends the scene at once. Fiction is no excuse.
  • Do not control the character of your partner. You write your side only.

The rules of the site apply to fiction too. Toilet play is banned as well. So are trade, harassment, threats, spam, impersonation, and leaks of private messages or images. Some of these cause an instant ban.

Staying safe: limits, consent and the line between story and life

These habits protect you:

  • Name your limits before the first line. Say what you do not want in the scene. A good partner does the same.
  • Agree on a stop word. "Pause" in double brackets is enough.
  • Keep the story and your life apart. A partner who asks "in character" for your real town or job wants real data. Do not give it.

The guide to sexting etiquette and consent explains how to ask and how to say no. Words like OOC and prompt are in the glossary of chat terms.

Tips for a good first message in roleplay chat

Post a scene idea in the room

A good idea gives a place, two roles and a mood. Then a partner knows what to answer.

  • "Looking for a partner for a slow office romance. I play the new manager."
  • "Scene idea: two strangers, one hotel bar, a storm outside. Who takes the other seat?"

Open a private message with care

Your first private message is a request, and you cannot add a second line until the person answers. Write each request for one person. The same first line to many people pauses your new conversations for 10 minutes.

  • "((Before we start: what are your limits? Mine are no violence and no humiliation.))"
  • "((Pause. Can we change the direction? This part is not for me.))"

Questions about Roleplay Chat

What is roleplay chat?

Roleplay chat is shared story writing in a chat. Each person plays a character and writes what that character says and does. The partners take turns, and the scene grows from their lines. In an adult roleplay chat, the scene can be romantic or erotic, and all writers are 18 or older.

Do I need experience to join a roleplay chat room?

No. Tell people that you are new, and start with a simple scene. Write two or three lines for each turn. Ask your partner out of character if the pace and the tone are fine.

How do I set limits in a sex roleplay chat?

Do it before the scene, out of character and in plain words. Say which themes you want and which themes you do not want. Agree on a word that stops the scene. If a partner ignores your limits, end the conversation and report the person.

Which roleplay themes are banned?

Fiction does not change the rules of the site. Characters under 18 are banned, and so is any content that involves minors. Incest and family roles, bestiality and toilet play are banned too. A scene with these themes causes a removal, and some of them cause an instant ban.
