To stay private in adult chat, control what you give to other users, and know what the site records. On this site, other users see only your name, gender, age and country. The site itself records your IP address and device data for 90 days, so it is not anonymous in the strict sense.
What other users see
Other users see four things about you:
- the name that you pick,
- your gender (Male, Female or Other),
- your age,
- your country.
They do not see your IP address, your date of birth, your device or your browser. They also see what you type and the images that you send. Most privacy problems come from that last part, not from the site.
What this site records
There is no sign up here: no account, no email and no password. That does not make the site anonymous. When you open the site, join a room or stay in a chat, the site records this data:
- your IP address,
- your approximate country,
- your browser, your operating system and your device type (phone, tablet or computer),
- a random device id,
- the time of your first visit and your last visit.
The device id is a random number. The page makes it and keeps it in your browser storage and in a cookie. The site does not measure your device to make it, and it does not use fingerprinting.
The site also saves your IP address with each report, each image upload and each ban.
Why the site records this data
The site uses this data for bans, for abuse handling and for legal reports. It also shows which devices and browsers people use.
How long the site keeps it
The site keeps this data for 90 days after your last visit. Then it deletes the data. A ban, a report and an image record stay longer. After 90 days, the site removes the IP address from them. A ban keeps only a hashed form of the address.
Who sees it
The moderators of this site see it. The site gives it to the authorities when the law requires it. The site does not sell this data and does not share it with advertisers. It uses no third-party analytics.
Other parties are part of the picture. Cloudflare sits in front of the site and sees network traffic. The site shows a sponsored link to live cam sites and can show ads. An ad network can set its own cookies. The privacy policy has the full list.
What this site does not store
- Chat messages. Room history lasts about 1 hour and private message history lasts 24 hours. They are kept on our server for that time and then deleted.
- Email addresses and passwords. There are none to store.
There are two exceptions for messages. The site stores the first line of a private message request until the request is answered or cleared. The site also stores the messages inside a report, so that a moderator can review them.
Images that you upload stay for up to 24 hours. Then the site deletes them.
Practical steps to stay private
Pick a name that you use nowhere else
A username from your email, your game account or your social media is easy to search. Pick a new name for chat. Do not put your real name, your birth year or your town in it.
Keep identifying details out of the conversation
Small facts add up. Your employer, your street, your gym and your exact schedule can identify you together. Give general answers: "the north of England" and not the name of your village. Be careful with requests to move to other apps. The guide to requests to move to another app explains why.
Check every image before you send it
- Keep your face out of the image.
- Look for tattoos, birthmarks, jewelry and uniforms.
- Look at the background: mail, screens, photos on the wall, a window view.
- Remove the metadata. A photo file can contain the place and time of the photo. A screenshot of the photo usually has no location data. This site removes the location data and the device data from every photo and GIF before other people can see it. Other apps do not always do this.
- Remember that the other person can save the image, even though the site deletes it after 24 hours.
The image sharing rules tell you what you can send here.
Use private browsing mode, and know its limits
Private browsing mode (Incognito in Chrome) keeps the site out of your browser history on your device. It deletes cookies when you close the window. That helps on a shared phone or computer.
It does not hide your IP address from the site or from your internet provider. It does not stop a person who looks at your screen.
A VPN hides your IP address from the site, not your identity
With a VPN, the site records the address of the VPN and not your home address. The VPN company then sees your traffic in place of your internet provider. A VPN is no promise of anonymity. Your words, your images and your habits can still identify you. No chat on the internet is fully anonymous.
Bans here work by account, by network address and by device. A VPN is not a way around a ban.
Use the settings in the chat
The setting "Who can message me" has three options: everyone, only a first message, or nobody. You can also Ignore a user. The guide to private message requests explains these controls. You can try them in a calm room such as the adult chat room.
How to ask for deletion
A guest session expires by itself. The site deletes your IP address and device data 90 days after your last visit.
To ask for deletion before that, or for deletion of a moderation record, use the Report abuse page. Include your username and the date. The site can refuse to delete data that it needs for an open report or that the law tells it to keep.
Questions
Is this chat site anonymous?
No. Other users see only your name, gender, age and country, and you do not give an email or a real name. But the site records your IP address, approximate country, browser, operating system, device type and a random device id. It keeps them for 90 days after your last visit.
Can other users find my IP address or my location?
Other users see your country, not your IP address or your town. The site blocks links in public rooms, which removes one common trick to collect addresses. Be careful with links that someone sends you on other apps, because a link can show your address to its owner.
Are my chat messages saved?
The site keeps no long-term chat log. Room history lasts about 1 hour and private message history lasts 24 hours. After that time the messages are deleted. The two exceptions are the first line of a private message request and the messages inside a report. Any user can still take a screenshot of what you write.
